THIS IS THE PLACE is about strong moments of truth and a protected space where you can be yourself. A second, where you calmly realise how strong and insignificant you are at the same time. A breach that allows everything and demands nothing. A breath to feel that being alive is enough and that you can let go. Chloé Lévy (voice) and Marcus Hagemann (cello) bring together music and sounds that accompanied their path until now. Since 2009, when they first met to create a program around Erik Satie with personal arrangements, compositions and improvisations, they work regularly together and developed a repertoire for soprano and cello crossing musical genres. The soprano voice and the cello are two "singing instruments" that can be deeply related in their flexibility and expression. Yet they define resounding spaces which can be profoundly different in terms of range and colours.
